Pascagoula is considered a shipbuilding city because of Ingalls Shipbuilding and Chevron, many people from Pascagoula, Gautier, Moss Point, and Vancleve work there. Overall, it's an okay place to stay. It's a small town so everyone knows everyone. The sunsets are beautiful.
What happened to the Pascagoula Indians?
Near the end of the war, the Pascagoula Indians were outnumbered and faced enslavement and death from the Biloxi Tribe. The Pascagoula Tribe gathered together near the dark waters of the Pascagoula River and held hands. They chanted a song of death and mourning as they walked into the river.
