Today, Quintana is a non-commercialized, natural family beach and also home to wildlife and a bird sanctuary. It offers six miles of beautiful, natural sand beaches. Bryan Beach State Park and Quintana Beach County Park are both located on the island.

Natural attractions include bird watching, fishing, nature viewing, swimming, surfing, beachcombing, and shelling. Quintana Beach also boasts a unique and colorful history. The site of Fort Bates (1862), the remains of the Freeport Harbor Defense during WWII (1942). The park is open year-round.

Quintana offers six miles of natural sandy beach with free vehicle access and parking. Quintana Beach County Park offers RV sites, cabins, restrooms and showers, a playground and an elevated boardwalk that leads to the beach.

Are Texas beaches clean?

In 2022, sixty-one Texas beaches were tested for fecal indicator bacteria, according to Environment Texas, a nonprofit based in Austin. Potentially unsafe levels of fecal contamination were recorded for at least one day in 90 percent of beaches tested.
