The resort is just 4 miles (6.5 km) south of the Canada–United States border, above which is the Province of Quebec. The resort opened for skiing in 1957, and it now includes year-round activities.
Why does Jay Peak get so much Snow?
“The way the mountain is oriented along a northeast-southwest line places it perfectly perpendicular to the northwest winds that we get a lot in winter,” he explains.
